Pippi Longstocking by Monanu Pippi Longstocking by Monanu
I really loved this show as a kid. It was always fun to see what exciting adventure Pippi got herself into. And she could do just about anything, from lifting up a horse to riding a bicycle without wheels.

For those who are not familiar with this character, she is from a series of swedish children story books and movies written by Astrid Lindgren. The first books was already written in 1945 and Astrid Lindgren continued to write stories about Pippi to year 2000.
The most well known movies are from the early 70`s.
This scene is from the movie called: "On the run with Pippi Longstocking" and is from 1970.

I can't say I've ever watched the show, and I don't know how many other people have either, but overall it's a pretty good digital painting. You seem to know what you're doing and have done it well.

The consistent direction of brush strokes in the back ground give a sense of her acceleration and speed, whizzing through the street's, but it's only by looking at the ground where you get that whizzing feeling. The windows, shadows and people all remain fairly still in comparison to the ground.

More detail could be added, the texture in the clothes, a shine on her face, possibly make the shadows darker and deeper to give a stronger sense of depth and warm highlights on her skin to give the audience an idea how hot and sunny it is, without having to see what the sky looks like, try adding reflections on those seemingly black, matte windows or some 3D depth on the window frame

(I'm probably sounding really harsh oh my god I'm not meaning to, it's a nice painting I like it)

However the main focus of the painting is pretty cool, I'm confused as to how she can sit on a bike like the with no proper frame or wheels, but then again it may be something that people who have seen the show understand which I do not. The face isn't uncanny and the body proportions are all flawless, you've given her a very natural posture, nothing pose-y or awkward about it, the wind does seem to be pushing against her in every direction though, hair one way and shoelaces the other.

Practice makes perfect and you're so on your way, keep up the good work :)
